Aston Villa in freefall after Capital One Cup defeat to Bradford City

Last nights Capital One Cup clash between Premier League side Aston Villa and League Two side Bradford City was always going to be dramatic. After trouncing Premier League powerhouse Arsenal in penalties Bradford were a side surpa sed expectations hailed as this years giant slayers. While no doubt the Kalif Raymond Jersey game will be a painful memory to any Arsenal fan, the game reiterated what these cup ties are all about which is giving the lower league teams a chance to shine. Enter Aston Villa is a side in free-fall after a catastrophic run of results in the Bobby Thomson Jersey league seeing them ship a woeful 15 goals in three games. The problems started after an 8-0 drubbing at Stamford Bridge by a Chelsea side who Eddie Stanky Jersey tore Villa to shreds; problems then intensified for Lamberts team with back to back home defeats against Tottenham and Wigan. A side that is a pale shadow of the players who beat Liverpool 3-0, the tie against Bradford was their chance to shine, while Bradford had knocked out Arsenal in their previous tie Villa were still favourites to walk away with a victory. This was not meant to be as the League Two side finished the game with an impre sive 3-1 victory against the struggling side. Bradfords goals were not pure luck but impre sive the first goal from Bermuda international Nakhi Wells was notably impre sive and Julian Love Jersey an 82nd minute consolation goal from Brian Burns Jersey Villa player Weimann was not enough for Villa to make an almighty comeback. Instead they slumped to yet another defeat against a side who have no beaten more teams than both QPR and Reading, and while the future seems bleak for Villa who sit a mere point above the relegation zone Bradfords future in the cup is looking bright.
